"Hearing other people share the same struggle, makes me feel like I'm not alone…" – Read about our Action Learning Groups!

Our Action Learning Groups (ALGs) are a great opportunity for you to learn, share and network with your colleagues from across the aged care sector. Need convincing? Keep reading to learn more about why you should enrol in this learning opportunity!

ALGs bring you together with a small group of governing body members and executive team members from a number of Australia’s aged care providers. In this forum, you have the opportunity to learn from each other’s experience, and discuss the real issues and challenges in your organisation. We recently sought feedback from some of our ALG participants to understand what they enjoyed the most about the process.

Participants stated the most valuable outcome was the connection to other participants and the ability to have ongoing communication with them. Strengthening cross-sector networks through the ALGs was especially appreciated considering that there have been reduced opportunities to connect with peers in the industry due to COVID-19.

Another valuable outcome that participants identified was knowing they are not alone in the challenges they are facing – one participant stated that "hearing other people share the same struggle, makes me feel like I'm not alone". Many participants also noticed they were facing the same issues in their organisation which provided an area of focus and fostered connection within the group.

The Governing for Reform in Aged Care Program is currently facilitating its final round of ALGs. The following ALG kick-off sessions are still available, but make sure to get in quick before time runs out!
